Facilitation for Liberation:

Cultivating Brave and Powerful Cross-Racial Collaboration

“I appreciated the combination of reflection, listening, and sharing.”

— Facilitation for Liberation Participant

What is Facilitation for Liberation?

Facilitation for Liberation is a learning and practice series that supports participants to reflect on their relationship to facilitation through the context of intersectionality and systems of oppression. Participants will build the capacity to facilitate toward liberatory outcomes through three strategy clusters: attunement, using structure, and acting with courage. Participants will have the opportunity to practice using these strategies through vignettes and simulations throughout the series.

Is Facilitation for liberation a fit for my organization?

Facilitation for Liberation is for participants who regularly facilitate groups and are ready to build skills and knowledge to facilitate group spaces toward liberatory outcomes.

This series is intended for organizations that have already developed a shared understanding of racial equity and anti-racism in their workplace. If your organization seeks a beginner or intermediate-level racial equity and anti-racism series, the following series may be a good fit: Healing from the Roots Part 1: An Introduction to Racial Equity and Healing from the Roots Part 2: Anti-Racism in Practice.

What are the Learning Objectives?

By the end of the Facilitation for Liberation Series, participants will be able to:

  • Explain how race and power impact how groups collaborate

  • Build their capacity to more effectively facilitate dialogues centered on race, power and culture

  • Practice using facilitation strategies that drive toward more liberatory outcomes

What is the time Commitment for this Series?

The total training time is 14 hours. We recommend two 6-hour sessions followed by one 4-hour session. During an exploratory call, Radicle Root Collective and your organization will determine the series frequency and cadence that works best for your organization.

Can this Series take place over Zoom?

Yes, all of Radicle Root Collective’s offerings can take place remotely over Zoom.
