Healing from the Roots Part 2:

Anti-Racism in Practice

“Having our entire organization participate in this training was helpful and powerful— to feel and see that we’re all in this work together, not just a few of us.”

— Healing from the Roots Part 2 Participant

What is Healing from the roots Part 2?

Healing from the Roots Part 2 is a three-part training series that will build on the knowledge and skills developed in Part 1 by inviting participants to explore the concept of transformation through the lens of anti-racism. The series will end with participants identifying anti-racism practices they can use at the interpersonal and institutional level.

Is Healing from the Roots Part 2 a fit for my organization?

Healing from the Roots Part 2 is a great fit for organizations that have a foundational understanding of anti-racism and seek to work toward transformation.

This is an intermediate-level learning and practice series. If your team is seeking a foundational, beginner-level series, please see Healing from the Roots Part  1: An Introduction to Racial Equity.

Do we have to complete Part 1 before Part 2?

No. If your organization has already demonstrated a shared foundational understanding of racial equity and anti-racism, you can take Part 2.

However, starting with Part 1 can be helpful if your organization:

  • Has had a lot of turnover in the past year

  • Had many “pauses” and “restarts” in conversations around racial equity

  • Needs to build a shared understanding of anti-racism

During an exploratory call, Radicle Root Collective can help determine which Healing from the Roots series is the best fit for your organization.

What are the Learning Objectives?

By the end of the Healing from the Roots Part 2 series, participants will be able to:

  • Be able to define the term “default practices” and understand it in the context of white supremacy

  • Practice individual embodiment to align their practices with their values

  • Begin to identify anti-racism practices that lead to transformative outcomes at the individual, interpersonal, and institutional levels

What is the time Commitment for this Series?

The total training time is 6 hours. We recommend three 2-hour sessions. During an exploratory call, Radicle Root Collective and your organization will determine the series frequency and cadence that works best for your organization.

Can this Series take place over Zoom?

Yes, all of Radicle Root Collective’s offerings can take place remotely over Zoom.
